1909 : MANUFRANCE ST ETIENNE, a famous old French company, installed an innovative back-pedaling on its “Hirondelle” bikes: By pedaling backwards, ManuFrance has calculated that the minimum useful force is 20kg while it
is only 5kg at the place. Several mountain races have been won thanks to this principle.
2016 : Birth of KORELE 8000, the result of collaboration between Dr Michel KOCH and Thierry LEDROIT, former CEO of TM TechMed. KORELE 8000 is the first recumbent ergometer with automatic “REVERSE” pedaling and electric sit / stand assistance.
Benefits of reverse pedaling :
- Better venous return by stimulation of the plantar venous pump
- Better muscle building
- Knee joint relief
- Increased patient pleasure and relaxation
- Work all the muscles by alternating the two directions of pedaling
- Better suited to people not used to pedaling
